Thailand was our first home after we sold everything and leapt into this life abroad — and it set the bar high. From the chaotic, colorful streets of Pattaya to the misty mountain temples of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, Thailand wrapped us in warmth, wonder, and more than a few surprises. It's a country that rewards curiosity, and we've barely scratched the surface.

• Krabi — Lush jungle, ethical elephant encounters, and some of the most dramatic coastline in Southeast Asia.
• Chiang Mai — Ancient temples in the clouds and a slower, cooler pace of life in the north.
