First Impressions

3 Mermaids Café sits high on a hillside with a sweeping view of Pattaya’s coastline — easily its best feature. The setup includes oversized mermaid statues, photo-friendly props, and bright seating areas meant to create a dreamy, whimsical stop for visitors. From far away, it looks playful. Up close, the cracks begin to show.

What Stood Out

The panoramic ocean view is undeniably beautiful, and the large statues make for fun photos, especially for families or anyone wanting a lighthearted backdrop. It has the bones of a place that could be magical — if more care were taken to maintain it. While enjoying the view, we did reference it as a seaside dining spot in theory, but the execution doesn’t match the concept.

Where Things Fell Short

The experience quickly shifted once we started noticing the condition of the space. Many areas looked run-down, with visible repairs needed and surfaces that hadn’t been cleaned properly. Tables were sticky, décor showed heavy wear, and several structures could use repainting or reinforcement.Food and drink prices were surprisingly high for what was offered, especially considering the upkeep issues throughout the café.

As we sat overlooking the ocean — a setting that should’ve added so much charm to a seaside dining spot — it was hard to ignore the contrast between the view and the reality of the environment around us.

Our Experience

We visited hoping for a relaxing break with a great view, and the scenery delivered. But the overall feel leaned more neglected than whimsical. There is potential here, but the lack of maintenance and the mismatch between price and quality made it a one-time stop for us. Even though locations like this can often work as a casual seaside dining spot, this particular visit didn’t quite reach that level of comfort or value.

Bottom Line

Come for the photos and the view — and lower your expectations for everything else. With more maintenance and better care, it could become a much more enjoyable stop, but for now, it’s hard to justify the price for what you get.
